This is the UTK Traditional Scottish non-wool kilt. Made from an acrylic or polyviscose fabric, this kilt will give you a great kilt for a low price. The kilt is perfect for any situation like ren faires or Scottish festivals where a wool kilt may get damaged or dirty. It is machine washable so it is much easier to clean than a typical wool kilt. While traditional kilts are made from wool, the non-wool kilt gives you an affordable option that is not cheap looking or just a costume. While most wear these kilts for in-formal occasions, we have sold these to many to use for weddings and other formal situations when budgets did not allow for a more expensive, wool kilt. This is also the perfect kilt for those unsure if wearing a kilt is for them. You really will be surprised at the quality of our non-wool traditional kilts

UT Kilts Acrylic vs Polyviscose
We currently have two fabrics we use for non-wool traditional kilts: Acrylic and polyviscose. The kilts are constructed in the exact same way, but with different fabrics. Polyviscose is the preferred fabric as it gives better color (similar to wool) than acrylic and tends to hang and ‘wing’ better than acrylic. However, Acrylic does have more tartans to choose from as we are still building out our polyviscose tartan offerings. We always recommend polyviscose if the tartan you want is available.
